Welcome Parents and Teachers

The INSPIRE Native Teens Initiative is spearhead by the The Native American Political Leadership Program (NAPLP) at The George Washington University (GW) and funded by a generous grant from the AT&T Foundation. A critical part of outreach efforts is supporting teachers and parents by providing relevant and helpful information on how to engage and support Native youth within their communities and career choices.

We offer resources for curriculum development relating to civics and tips for supporting career choices in public service. Our library will continue to grow as we find additional materials. If you have any recommendations or questions, you may fill our Ask a Question form.

Over the last seven years in Washington, D.C., NAPLP has trained over one hundred American Indian, Alaska Native and Hawaiian Native college students in applied politics through its semester long political management classes, a political practicums and internship placements. Many of our alumni have pursued careers in politics and advocacy with a personal passion for positively influencing their respective communities. It is with this same passion that NAPLP and our alumni join ongoing community efforts.
